VALIDATION OF LEARNING MATERIAL AND PROGRAMMES FOR CONTINUING
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)
CPD will be used as the mechanism through which all registered persons
would have to renew their Registration with ECSA. In this regard
section 22(1) of the Engineering Profession Act, 200 (Act 46 of 2000)
requires that a registered person has to renew his or her Registration
and has to *apply, in the prescribed manner, to the Council for the
renewal of his or her Registration.
VALIDATION
Due to the fact that the developmental category (category 1) is
compulsory, there needs to be a quality assurance process in place.
This means the material that training providers present to the
industry must be validated, quality assured and evaluated.
PROCESS1. Application to be verified as a Service Provider 2. Validation of material for CPD credits
Verified Service providers must submit their material for validation. This will include presentations, learning material, handouts, evaluation forms and certificates.
*The website will take you through all the requirements.
The service provider will receive an invoice for the validation process and on payment an expert will be appointed to validate the material and to make the necessary recommendations.
If the application is successful then the service provider will receive a validation number, credits and validation period. If not, then a report will be generated and recommendations will be made.
Good luck with your CPD events.
